Students are required to plan their research program based on the guidance of the supervisors, and develop experiments and theories to compose research papers. Supervisors are required to provide students with guidance as follows: In the first stage, supervisors should give students guidance on how to conduct literature research directly related to their research theme, and literature research on the trend or potential of the research area, leading students toward the developing a specific research program. In the second stage, supervisors should lead students to collect and analyze data based on their research program. Moreover, students must present the progress of their study verbally in English at a major-classified seminar, which is conducted twice. Furthermore, the supervisors encourage students to present their research achievements at academic conferences, and so forth (Academic Presentation). In the third stage, supervisors should give students guidance on how to organize for prepublication of their paper and finally, preparation for publishing their paper in journals in order to write a dissertation and apply to the Doctoral Dissertation Committee (博士論文審査会). (2) Curriculum ● About Syllabus--> ●-->Researcher Ethics: Students are required to take a course about environmental ethics, bioethics, and morals of engineers, which varies according to their major. ●Essential Subject: Students are required to take one essential subject (2 credits) set for each Education Course.
