This year's symposium will be held under the theme of "Future of Global Trade Order and Economic Security." As economic globalization is reversed by the U.S.-China confrontation and Russia's invasion of Ukraine, the world trade order and economic security have become important themes in today's international community. The symposium will feature speakers including Dr. Beatrice WEDER di MAURO, Director of CEPR, Dr. Jeffrey SCHOTT of the Peterson Institute for International Economics, Dr. URATA Shujiro, Chairman of RIETI among others. Participants will discuss how the EU and Japan can restore the troubled global trade order and how they can cooperate in economic security area.
